When asked who I am, my usual response is "I'm a great-grandmother with an outrageous sense of humor, optimistic attitude who is also a retired real estate title examiner, blogger, author and seamstress." I admit that I'm addicted to creating something from almost nothing. I use whatever comes out of this quirky brain and turn it into a reality.
This website store centers on my creative designs for children's clothing but also includes products for the home and pets.. Everything I make is unique. You will not find another exactly like what I offer on any other clothing website. You may see similar pieces in "Spoiled Sweet Boutique", but there will be something different with every piece.
My fabrics are from various fabric stores and also repurposed from clothes I wore when I was more than a hundred pounds overweight. My double-digit sized jeans are now pieces of any of my designs containing denim.
I DO NOT buy clothing, add a bit of this or that and resell it as an original design. Unless specified in the description, EVERYTHING offered on this site has been hand sewn by me.
I'm not just limited to my sewing machine. I also paint or embroider (by hand and/or machine) designs onto fabric. I incorporate such things as my grandchildren's drawings into my clothing.
Taking a design from my head to reality is one of the most satisfying things that I do. Be sure to check out my signature piece... a swan ballerina costume with each feather hand sewn individually onto the skirt and bodice.
First Cut
After deciding on the design of the garment, it's time to cut it out. Besides "off the shelf" retail fabric, I also repurpose jeans and other clothes to create something new and different.
Then Sew
There are several different sewing procedures used when making a garment, such as, basting, overcasting, buttonhole making, hemming and embroidery.
Sebastian
My little kitty buddy watches every move I make when I sit down to start sewing. I call him my Safety Inspector because he seems to inspect every inch of my machine before he lets me sew
